Albania stands among the world leaders in renewable electricity production. As of 2025, over 95–98% of the country’s electricity is generated from hydropower, with solar energy accounting for around 2% and growing steadily. In recent years, Albania has also shown increasing interest in diversifying its clean energy portfolio, particularly in solar and wind projects, as part of its commitment to sustainable development and climate goals.
Within the G-FEB (Green Skills for Female Entrepreneurs in the Balkans) project, the Women’s Economic Chamber of Albania plays a key role in promoting green energy opportunities for women-led businesses. Through this initiative, the Chamber aims to:
Raise awareness about the economic and environmental benefits of renewable energy.
Provide training and mentoring for female entrepreneurs who wish to integrate clean technologies into their operations.
Encourage investment in areas such as solar panels, energy efficiency solutions, and innovative green technologies.
This effort is part of a broader vision to empower women as active contributors to the transformation of the energy market, giving them the tools to compete in an increasingly sustainability-driven economy.
The G-FEB project, co-funded by the European Union, brings together organizations from across the region to share expertise, strengthen capacities, and build a supportive network for female entrepreneurs. For Albania, participation in this initiative is a significant step toward building a greener and more inclusive economy.
