Propuh is an art studio made up of Mia and Tiho, a duo from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cetinje, which they graduated from in 2014. Mia is a graphic artist and Tihomir is a painter. Their work represents a fusion of art and ecology through experimental graphics, using traditional techniques of letterpress and intaglio printing. Inspired by tradition, the Propuh studio revives old techniques such as woodcuts, analogous methods of creating graphics to those used in the Crnojević printing house in the 15th century. The first step was to create their own eco-paper – in 2015, they began research work on papermaking, trying to combine artistic needs with ecological awareness. The goal of each of their products is to raise awareness of the importance of preserving nature and cultural heritage, through education about the processes of papermaking and graphics, combining artistic and ecological practices.
